24 December 2024 - Lookout Beach, Plett; Day 12
It was a stunning Christmas Eve morning and now that I knew where the Warbler hung out, I was back at the same spot just after sunrise which is a short enjoyable walk from the apartment.
Timing was good, as it was early enough to only have a few beach walkers go past me. This early, you had to listen for a 'tack' call, not it's usual call associated later in the day. I was in luck and found this frustratingly elusive Warbler, sitting in a small patch of sun warming up. A Christmas present to myself and relatively out in the open. I certainly didnt need my flash which I packed as backup..

It was then a brief walk on the beach where I had a distant Oystercatcher against the mountains behind Keurbooms

It was then back to the apartment to enjoy Christmas Eve with the family for the rest of the day - no presents required. No, just joking, but I got mine from me!
