13 - 15 December 2025; Midrand - Graaf Reinet - Plett; Day 1 and 2
We really looked forward to our annual summer family break in Plett after a busy and hectic year. We left early on the 13th from Midrand and headed to Graaf Reinet for our over-night stop.
We enjoyed exploring this historic town, finding some quaint shops and a really good restaurant. We had a rum tasting (Afrikanis - highly recommended; the tasting and the rum) to celebrate my son's 21st followed by an excellent dinner where the celebrations continued.
It was a little of a slow start on the 14th, but we still made it to Plett by 2pm, just in time to check into our apartment on the top floor on the main street. Unfortunately, this would be the last year we would have access, as the rental apartments have now all been sold.
We were treated to a solo air display along the beach front and had stellar views from our apartment
After unpacking we settled in with sundowners as we prepared dinner and then enjoyed a spectacular moon rise over Keurbooms

The 15th was a chill day, walking on the beach and just soaking in Plett. Here the legendary Beacon Isle Hotel from Lookout Beach

Now, it was time to switch-off and enjoy the summer of 2024 at the coast.
