24 August 2024 - Ngwenya Lodge; Day 1
We opted to depart to our timeshare on a Saturday, instead of the usual Friday, as I needed to work. Fortunately, the Lodge now has wi-fi throughout, so working while on leave wouldn't be a hindrance.
We arrived at Malelane Gate just before 10am and it wasnt long before we were in the Park and heading East on the southern road following the Crocodile River toward Crocodile Gate.
We took it easy, but it was already pretty hot when we entered, so game viewing would be restricted a little. So, we were thrilled when we came across these two magnificent male Lion already resting up in the shade.

There always seems to be a photo opportunity with Lilac-breasted Roller's and it would be rude not to stop and take another image

The most common raptor this visit, was the Bateleur and we came across more juvenile and immature's than adults

The slow drive took around 3-hours and fortunately we were able to check-in early to our Lodge overlooking the Crocodile River, right on the southern boundary of the famed Kruger National Park. Looking forward to just chilling in between work for the rest of the week.
