25 December 2023 - Hermanus to Gansbaai; Day 4
We all slept in and then prepared a 5* Xmas breakfast washed down with some good bubbly. Mid-morning we took a drive to Stanford and then onward to Gansbaai. There were some big fires in the mountains and the helicopters were doing sterling work trying to manage it spreading which is a daunting task in the stiff wind

Later in the afternoon, Gill and I had a walk from our accommodation along the boardwalk and into town for a gelato - a bright yellow Cape Canary did catch my eye, but otherwise birding was not a priority on this family day
