Local birding

17 August 2022 - Beaulieu and surrounds

I had a brief early morning visit to Beaulieu Bird Sanctuary in Midrand and was greeted by a small flock of Arrow-marked Babblers scavenging in the dustbin at the entrance

A Cape Robin-Chat was doing the same at a bigger bin inside the reserve

There was not much else on offer, so took a drive to Zinnia Road where all the grasslands have sadly been burnt, as is the norm in winter. Both Crowned and African Wattled Lapwing's were present and quite vocal

A little further down the road, a female African Stonechat was in attendance

After which I headed back home
