On Golden Pond

02 May 2022 - Glen Austin Pan

I spent an hour before sunset at the Pan, although this is not the ideal time of day for photography at this site - mornings are way better with the sun behind you.

Nevertheless, there were a few Greater-striped Swallow's still around - but not for too much longer before they head north into Africa

There were many Brown-throated Martin's including a few dark individuals, same as I had seen at Songimvelo a few months back

Dark Form Brown-throated Martin (Riparia paludicola)

The White-backed Ducks were still present - these are really cool Ducks. The first one was photo-bombed by a Brown-throated Martin

As the sunset, I papped a flock of White-faced Whistling Ducks on the 'golden' pond
